Right at this moment, I'm sitting outside Starbucks, drinking a passion tea with lemonade (my favorite drink in the WHOLE world!), downtown Estes Park. It is absolutely beautiful! 75 and sunny! I have to soak up this gorgeous weather while it lasts! It's going to start getting chilly soon.
Today, the whole school got all dressed up and headed over to a local church for their service and lunch. The service was great, as was the food afterward! They really welcomed us into their community for the year. All the ladies in the church gave us bags of cookies! When it came time for each of us to stand up and say our name and where we were from, everyone kept laughing and joking because the final count for fellow Wisconsinites is 18!! That's 1/3 of the school! It makes for some amusing conversations about how to pronounce "roof," "roots," "know," and even "Wisconsin." Luckily, I passed the test. Apparently I don't have a huge Wisconsin accent.
Tonight we have an all school worship service, but other than that...we have the whole day free! I know once the homework load increases we'll have a lot less free time on weekends, but I'm sure enjoying easing into things!
Oh...one more thing...there is a Scottish festival going on this weekend, so there are men walking around in skirts EVERYWHERE! (Ok, I know they are called kilts...but it sounds funnier to say skirts!) men with battle armor...oh and can't forget the inflatable Loch Ness Monster in Lake Estes :o)
