I feel a lot better about being back here today. I actually had a good morning of classes and then we had work day all afternoon. My work day duty today was cleaning the Cirone's house! (Frank Cirone and his wife Krista are on staff here). It was so nice because Krista had errands to run so I got to be there all afternoon by myself. It was definitely an answer to prayer, because I have been in need of space! I was really struggling with being here and not getting a few minutes of alone time. I was so stressed, and getting really homesick because I am so used to having my own space. But God is so good and He has provided me with the weirdest, most random ways of having time to myself. It's almost humorous, yet wonderful!
Tonight we had the guest speaker again. He was spoke on the book of Jeremiah and used the best example ever. He pulled out a ceramic bunny, telling us that he bought it for his wife. "I think it's ridiculous, but she calls it cute," he told us, "Just another thing to pick up, dust around and collect dust itself." He wrapped it back up in the towel to protect it, and then told us to read a couple verses in Jeremiah. He said, "While you do that, I'll do this..." And by THIS he meant smash that little bunny into a million pieces! He just started banging the ceramic bunny with a rock! It was so unexpected, and super funny. He was using it to demonstrate how God told Israel that He would "break" them if they disobeyed.
So my roommate, Stephanie, decided to help out with a lock-in at a local church tonight. Stephanie isn't exactly a night owl, so this should be interesting. Any of the students helping are only staying until 1 am, but Steph is so used to being in bed by 10:30 that this might kill her! SO to make things worse for her, the rest of us short sheeted her bed. For those of you who don't know what that is, ( I didn't know until tonight...) picture a nicely made bed, with the sheet folded over. Then picture yourself crawling into that sheet from the opposite side of the bed, pulling the folded side over you, thinking you can slide your legs all the way in. You would have about a foot of sheet to try pulling over your legs. Haha. She is going to be so mad! We can't wait, at first we were going to pull the wood out from under the mattress, so when she plops into bed, it falls through. But, we figured then we would have to help her, and none of us want to wake up at 1:00am to help her. I'll let you know how mad she is tomorrow....
