Updates!

I was thinking today about how long it's been since I actually wrote anything on my blog. Maybe I should start writing a bit with each picture post. Oh well. I know my family back home checks this, and I'm sorry it's been so long since I have updated you all!
I feel like life has been settling down a bit. It has been a whirlwind with having two children and the adjustment that comes along with it. Ella was a very difficult baby with her colic and fussiness. I felt like I was always holding her and trying to calm her, while Elijah was also at a very frustrating stage. Slowly we adjusted, Ella came out of her fussy stage around 6 months, and Elijah began to talk A LOT (helps a bit with communication :) ).
I now have an extremely pleasant, happy 10 month old baby girl, who is such a joy to be around. She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on everything, beginning to eat table food (we're still working on those teeth-none yet!), and loves the kitty. I have been starting sign language with her, and just today she signed "milk!" Ahhh, communication. It's been fun to teach Elijah some new signs too. I can't believe Ella will be 1 this summer! This year flew by.
Elijah is turning into less of a baby and more of a little boy. He's my little buddy, and such a sweetheart. He always asks me to "swuggle" him, and I love our snuggle time. I love hearing him speak in sentences! They aren't perfect, but oh, so cute! He really is starting to entertain himself easily, playing for hours with any type of train toy or car. Elijah learned how to ride his tricycle a few weeks back, and it's his absolute favorite toy. Some days it's his "motorcycle," some days it's a "train." He rides it all over the house, outside, to the park.
We had a little adventure with Elijah this week. He was helping Joel put together his new grill and we noticed him gagging on something. Turns out it was a screw from the grill! (He swollowed it). So after an ER visit and digging through a few dirty diapers, Joel can now finish putting together his new grill...we found the screw :)
Joel is keeping really busy this summer! He's had a lot of incredible opportunities with his business, meeting lots of great people, making connections and really enjoying what he's doing. I wish he could get paid to do work around here! He's such a talented man, I can't wait until we can start some projects around our house.
Besides being "mom," I am spending most weekends photographing weddings. I am usually a second shooter for other photographers, which is my favorite thing to do. It makes for a busy summer, but it's a great way for me to get out of the house, do something I love, and make some money while I'm at it!
Oh, and if you didn't know, we moved back into our old house (long story, but the other place was so loud it woke our kids up consistently). It's funny, this house used to stress me out with it's lack of space and quirks, but I am LOVING living here this time around. The small space is keeping me sane. I can clean it so fast, it's easy to keep up with, and I can see my kids almost wherever I am in the house. We both have so much peace in being back here. Maybe we'll turn it into a one unit someday, but for right now this is "home," and feels so good. Elijah is loving living next door to his little buddy too. They love to play in the pool, ride bikes, and yell at each other through the windows.
It's been a refreshing month or two and I am really looking forward to my time with my family. this summer. It's such an enjoyable time in life right now! Hopefully I will keep you guys updated a little better. Sorry if this is a bit scattered...and I didn't proof read it, so hopefully it makes sense!

So glad to hear you are able to enjoy life...with all its little quirks!! :) Care to send Joel our way for a week or so? ;)
Ella is getting so big! I agree that this year FLEW by...Levi turns one in a mere 26 days; yikes! I feel as though I was pregnant only last week! Thank goodness that's not the case, though...hehe :)
Love your blog and your work, hope you and your family have a wonderful 4th!
