Tiny Lemon Tree

We bought this tiny lemon tree on clearance at the hardware store last summer, and thought we'd see if we could help it grow. It was just a little stick-no leaves. Slowly it started to sprout a few leaves and we pulled it inside over the winter. It thrived this winter in our upstairs kitchen, and I'm hoping it will continue to do well. Lemon tree's (more like bushes) are really beautiful plants! This is one of Joel's projects that Trigger (or the kids) have not ruined yet!

I really want to start gardening and keeping plants around the apartment. For some reason for me it's intimidating starting out!

This brings back memories! Grandma and Grandpa had a lemon tree they we grew from a seed. I don't know if they still have it but it was at least 3 feet tall (maybe more!) We always liked picking off a leaf and crumbling it in our fingers because it smelled so good.
