Watching my roommates set up mouse traps was quite entertaining tonight...but what was much more entertaining was when my roommate called me quite a horrible name, one which I refuse to repeat. Not realizing it was a swear, she had no idea why I was so surprised. I actually fell off my chair laughing, because I was so shocked at what she called me! It was pretty funny. One of the benefits of public school: I learn more vocabulary words! :o)
Thursdays are really long days, I'm so thankful it's over! We had classes all morning, and two at night, but we have a guest lecturer so it was pretty interesting. We are going through I and II Timothy, talking about woman's roles in the church, and stuff like that. It keeps me awake! After classes we had work day, and because its a new month we switched jobs! Thank goodness! I was sick of cleaning the lower berg. I now am a kitchen helper, so I get to do odds and ends in the kitchen, along with baking cookies (and eating dough of course). Work days are only from 3-5 on Thursdays, but we also have daily duties everyday. Mine is lunch food prep. I love it! I get to help cook and prepare food for lunch (I get to prepare baked potatoes, cut veggies, peel potatoes, etc.). The cook, Will, asked me to stay on all semester so he doesn't have to reteach (is that a word?) anyone. It's a blast. I work with the cooks, and 2 other girls, plus the whole dish cleaning crew is in there too. They are hilarious and we get to crank the music, so it makes after breakfast SO much fun!
Yesterday I was in Boulder for the afternoon. A bunch of us don't have to do an outreach on Wednesday, so we like to hang out outside of Estes Park. We went to Pearl St. It's just like State St. in Madison. Pearl is right near UC Boulder, and it's where all the college students hang out. We had a good time: shopped, had dinner at Chipotle, went to Target. OH, we played a fun game in Target! We played guys vs girls. Each team had a shopping cart, and went around the store picking out the most 10 random items we could. We met up again, switched carts, and the first team to put everything back won. WELL, we probably played for an hour, because it's SO hard to find where some of that stuff goes! The "girly" isle, as the boys called it was "definitely off limits," according to the guys. Apparently they don't want to be caught with "feminine products." Wimps. Although there was a little cheating involved on BOTH sides, us girls won. I think we're just better shoppers by nature.
I'm looking forward to this weekend. Friday night we are having a movie night, and then after I sleep in Saturday, almost the entire school is going to a concert in Denver. We are hearing Robbie Seay Band, Shane Barnard, and David Crowder. My friend Natalie lives in Denver, so we are all sleeping at her house and getting free meals and long showers! (For those of you who don't know, we only get 4 quick showers a week up here in the mountains!). It will be nice to be off campus for a night!
Well this is getting super long...I guess it's my own fault for not posting in a long time!
