Sunday

Sunday's are always such busy days around here for me. Church was really good today, it's always really encouraging. In September the church gave $100 to 40 people, telling them to multiply it and give it away. The only rule was they could not keep it for themselves, or give it to the church. People did all sorts of things, from donating it to a charity that is able to get more food items for the dollar, to bird house workshops. The money went to people with cancer, a family where the wife/mother just died, charitable organizations, etc. So far, the $4,000 has multiplied into $12,000. It has been a really neat project to watch and hear about.
After church I went ice skating at the base of Longs Peak. It was absolutely beautiful today! Last time I went it was -30 degrees, but today I didn't even need a jacket. It was gorgeous! I had a great time talking with Linnea and laughing at each other when we fell flat on our butts. It's super fun to watch all the students from Texas, Florida...any place warm, because some haven't skated in years!
As soon as the sun went behind Longs, it got really cold and not so fun to skate in anymore. It was right in time for me to head to youth group. Youth group was fun, the youth pastor is great, and I really love chillin with the kids.
After youth group we had fellowship with the entire school. We met in the library, with a fire in the fireplace. It was so cozy! After that we sat in the kitchen eating slushies (with the amazing slushy maker that Laura bought yesterday!). Seriously, we were sitting there eating them and questioned, first, who eats snow cones in the middle of winter, and secondly, why did we buy a machine that shaves ice when there is snow right outside our door? Either way, they were still great. The best part about it is the red dye in the juice leaves everyone's lips bright red...including the guys.
We enjoyed our slushies for a while, then moved to the Stanley...once again, to finish the movie we started the night before. I would still be there, but curfew is so early that I actually am still wide awake as I type this. Oh well, tomorrow starts another long week of classes...and this week will be LOOONGG. None of my favorite professors are teaching, so we'll see how fun this will be.
