Neighbors

Last night Joel and I went sat on our front stoop to get some fresh air, and our neighbor, Pete, stopped by. Pete is quite the character. He is always drinking, most of the time drunk, and is hispanic (which at times makes it hard to understand what he is saying!). Pete brought over a beer for Joel and we all started talking. Before we knew it, it was me, Joel, Jesse, Andy and Laura hanging out with Pete and 3 more of his friends. It was a pretty funny bunch. Picture 5 of us who have grown up in white suburbia, and then these guys who most would consider "ghetto." They all were a different race, white, black and indian...and they all try to talk over each other. It was quite the party. Haha. It was fun to get to know some of them though. In the end, Pete told us he was going to make us some spanish rice with beans, and that he doesn't cook out of hunger, he cooks "from his heart." He said he would make it for us and we can make our american "macaroni salad." Haha.
