Spring Fever

We were in the process of potty training (attempt #3?) this past week. It was going so well, but our crazy morning of doctor appointments and being in and out of stores for prescriptions that I decided to put a diaper on her.

You'd think that with each child it would get easier, but I think it gets harder. You know how much they will ask to go, in public, in every new bathroom they pass. Plus, you don't just have 1 child to bring into a dirty public bathroom, but now two... or in our case, three!

By the time the potty trainee has gone, chances are another child will have to go. If not, they will probably have touched a dozen questionable things in the process, so we all have to wash our hands and make it out of the bathroom without touching everything again and have to start all over.

Paranoid much? Ha. I'd rather take the time to come out clean and at least try to avoid a week of sickness in our home.

I think we will start again this week. She does so well. I'm the one holding her back.

Jude doesn't enjoy being tied down anymore. He likes to explore the kitchen floor...

Unknown object was melted in Florence (the oven) this week. Has been a while since this has happened. Probably since Elijah was two...

Turned out to be a sippy cup. Bummer. Oh, and in case you think I'm nuts and name our oven....

...it is her name :) We didn't name her.

I'm getting anxious for spring to arrive. Thankfully, it comes earlier here than in Wisconsin, but it still seems so far off! My daffodils and tulips are starting to peek out of the ground. Can't be too long now!

To fix my eagerness for spring, the kids and I went to a local greenhouse today and bought a few new houseplants. Spring is popping up inside the Hess house!

Even though it's not quite spring yet, we still have enjoyed the beautiful Saturday! Lots of playing outside and fun things together. Can't wait for more days like this.
